Today's exploration brings a surprising twist to the analytical world of operations: the impact of feelings. Karalee:

Hello, hello, welcome back. Make sure you listen to the end, though, because I'm gonna share something very special, okay? So let's go ahead and get started. We're gonna be talking about feelings. I know, I know this podcast is about operations, so what in the world do feelings have to do with it? But I want you to think about how you feel about your operations. Okay, that's where we're going with this.

Karalee:

I'm a very analytical person. That's why I love operations, but I'm also very much like how does that make you feel, or how do you want to feel, sort of person, too. That's why I bring this into my business. So I've always been someone that has to understand the why behind things, and if it doesn't make sense and I hold any power to change it, then I absolutely need to. My brain will not allow me to actually settle until I found a solution or at least a step in the right direction. All right, that has been like me my whole life, right? So when it comes to operations, I actually incorporate the same ideas.

Karalee:

Asking questions like how do you feel about your operations right now, or what about your operations, feels heavy. These questions are phrased in a way that allows me to truly understand how I, as an operation specialist, can support you in streamlining them. So if we're working together, I want to know how you want to feel when we are done with a project, or how do you want to feel while working with me month to month. Whether we like it or not, how we feel has a big impact on our business and our life, especially the ability to make decisions. I also take the time to understand how your brain works. Questions like do you learn by me doing it for you and you watching, or do you want to do it yourself and I walk you through it? That was a question I asked during a ClickUp VIP Week session just today. Another question might be do you prefer video, audio or written text? This is something that supports me.

Karalee:

When you have questions, I can give feedback, something like are you more of an integrator or more of a visionary? This usually gives me an inside look into how much detail you need or how much you want to be a part of the process. So, according to the book Rocket Fuel, the easiest way to think about integrators versus visionaries is this the visionaries see the future and know where they want to go with a product or a service. The integrators get them there, they draw the map and they make sure others are following that map. Now, obviously, I'm an integrator, not a visionary, but a lot of my clients are visionary, so I'm able to support them in that manner. But these are the types of questions that allow me to understand you, but also which offers might be best for you as well.

Karalee:

So, throughout any time I'm creating content, working with a client or simply connecting with someone, I genuinely want to know how I can best support you, while still trying to stay true to my own boundaries, but also adhering to yours, because boundaries are really important in a good partnership. So, do you want to feel amazing and organized in your business? Like, seriously do you? Because I feel like everyone wants to, but like, what are you going to do about it?

Karalee:

So, think about how you feel about your operations now. If it's not a hell yes, they feel good then we need to chat okay, we should seriously chat, and just to see what your options could be. So, but here's that special something I talked about in the beginning, though, because this might be that special something that you might need. So, if you want to create a central hub for your business which side note is how I keep my shed together. Okay, plain and simple.
